We’re happy to help.
Hair transplantation is done under local anesthesia so the initial 2-3minutes duration is needed to numb the donor area and the recipient area. We use micro needles to inject the anesthetic drug and also apply local vibration or pressure like leg pressing or upper back pressing to minimize the pain in the donor area. For the recipient area we apply the topical local anesthetic cream 1 hour prior to anesthetize the recipient area.
Yes the transplanted hair grows permanently as these grafts are taken from the baldness resistant donor area. This grafted hair is also natural hair which undergoes normal hair cycle i.e; 2-6yrs of growth phase which is followed by a temporary resting phase and shedding phase.
In androgenetic alopecia there is a progressive miniaturization of the existing hair throughout the life as it is under the genetic control. So for the existing hair the patient needs to take advice from the qualified doctor regarding proper medication, lifestyle changes and a balanced diet.
Generally we prefer more than 21yrs age but in special conditions it may vary. There is no real upper age limit because with good medical fitness and well donor area even at the age of 75 -80 yrs also one can undergo the procedure safely.
Under ideal conditions the survival rate will be more than 92-95%
As the procedure is a day care procedure done under local anesthesia the patient is completely conscious and oriented so he can do any indoor work even immediately after the procedure. 1-2 days of rest is advised preferable till the first head wash is over in the clinic.
Yes the scar will be there till our life but the width of the scar depends on certain factors like
Laxity of donor area.
Thickness of the scalp.
Width of the strip taken.
Resuming of the physical activity by the patient post operatively.
Keloid/hypertrophy tendency of the skin.
We do a specialized TRICHOPHYTIC CLOSURE technique for the FUT scar, so that hair will grow through the scar after the procedure.
Yes the transplantation can be done without trimming even with FUT or FUE technique
The results of a facial hair transplant are generally permanent, as the transplanted hair follicles are resistant to the hormones that cause hair loss. However, natural aging and genetic factors may influence overall hair density over time.
Possible risks and side effects include:
Infection
Swelling
Bruising transient for 2-3 days depending on area ,extent and color of skin.
Scarring
Itching
Folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles) Rare.
Temporary shedding of transplanted hair (shock loss), which is a normal phenomenon for all.
The results of mustache hair transplantation are generally permanent, as the transplanted hair follicles are resistant to the hormones that cause hair loss. However, natural aging and genetic factors may influence overall hair density over time.
This is a reversible increased hair fall in resting stage, precipitated due to previous health issue (like child birth or surgery ) ,stress and aggressive weight loss with crash diets in the recent past (within 6 months). Generally spontaneous regrowth occurs after 6 months under normal circumstances.
Sudden almost total hair loss of the scalp occurs in active growth phase of hair cycle (anagen) due to chemo therapy drugs usage or exposure to toxins. The chemo therapy drug arrest the mitotic phase of the hair cycle leading to total anagen hair loss. Total re growth occurs after stopping of the chemo therapy drugs
This is a non scarring alopecia with sudden circular bald patches appear in the hair baring areas of the individual i.e; mostly scalp later beard , mustache and other body parts . The cause is autoimmune along with underlying genetic and environmental factors.
In this condition total hair loss of the scalp occurs. What is alopecia areata universalis? So in this condition entire body hair loss is seen.
This is also known as male pattern baldness as the name itself explains it is caused by androgens (male hormones) DHT (dihydro-testosteron) and genes (either maternal /paternal/both). What is traction alopecia? The hair loss occurs gradually at the frontal and temporal hair line due to tight hair styles like tight braids, buns or ponytails. Even hair extensions after prolongs use can contribute to this. Recovery can occur in the early stage if the condition is corrected.
This is a chronic dermatological condition in which raised reddish patchy lesions covered with thick silvery white scales or grey scales are seen. They cause itching, burning and may cause temporary hair loss. In this immune system attacks its own healthy skin cells with accelerated growth and shedding leading to formation of plaques or patches of the dead cells.
This is also called as scarring alopecia in which permanent destruction of hair follicles occurs with irregular bald patches over the scalp. May be due to chronic inflammation (bacterial, fungal), trauma (accidental scars) & burns etc…
In this condition involuntary plucking of one’s own hair is done due to severe psychological stress mostly seen in adolescent women. Round to irregular patches of broken hair seen in the scalp. Sometimes even eyebrows also get affected. Total recovery is possible with proper counseling and psychological support.
Equipment -
We use Mantis microscope for slivering
For dissection: Video microscope and Stereo microscopes are used.
For Implantation: Binocular loupes (2.5X to 4.5X) are used.
For FUE technique: The Safe scribe machine for graft extraction is used.
And also IMPLANTERS are used for graft implantation.
Donor area – The areas at the back & sides of the scalp i.e.; occipital & parietal regions which are genetically resistant to balding. Sometimes even BEARD and CHEST WALL hair also serves as donor.
Recipient area – The area which requires hair transplantation due to hair loss\balding, which may be due to pattern baldness or congenital (eye brow, mustache &beard). In the scalp, the recipient area includes FRONTAL, TEMPORAL, MID- VERTEX, POSTERIOR VERTEX and CROWN regions.
Testosterone is an androgen &primary male sex hormone produced in the testicles. It plays a crucial role in development of male reproductive organs, muscle mass, body hair, bone density and libido etc…
DHT is formed from Testosterone by the action of 5 alpha reductase enzymes in the body and scalp.
This is a male sex hormone [androgen] that plays a key role in pattern baldness or Androgenetic alopecia which causes hair follicles to shrink and miniatures, ultimately causing baldness in male.
It is a small piece of skin containing 1-4or 5 hair follicles with the surrounding structures together considered as unit or graft.
Grafts are of three types –
-Single grafts
-Double grafts
Multiple grafts (i.e., triple or quadruple)
The latest transplants include ULTRA REFINED FOLLICULAR UNIT GRAFTING (URFUG) which completely simulates the original hair distribution.
Hair follicle is an individual hair which is arising from dermis or sub-cutaneous tissue. The hair follicle is innervated by the blood vessels also containing stem cells for re-growth.
Normally in humans the hair growth and fall occurs in a cyclical pattern involving 3-4 phases:
1.Anagen /growth phase – 2-7 yrs
2.Catagen/ transition phase – 2-3 weeks
3.Telogen/resting phase – 3-4 months
4.Exogen phase/shedding phase.
